I had soooo much fun running around Atlanta with Taylor and her sister Tanya! Taylor is a senior and she rocked the photo shoot! We practiced our project runway walk and even had enough time to squeeze in some fun moments at the park! Taylor won my heart the moment she slipped on her FABULOUS black high-heel pumps!!!! Here’s a sneak peek with lots more to come:) Watch out world, here comes Taylor!

Steve and Michelle at Roswell Mill – Roswell, GA

Steve and Michelle had a very intimate ceremony at Eastminster church in Marietta and then followed it up by a lively reception at the gorgeous Roswell Mill. Everything turned out perfect! Michelle’s limo drove her to the covered bridge at Roswell Mill for the girls’ photos while Steve made a run to pick up some Krystals (love those burgers.) With timing just right we were able to get almost all of the photos completed before the ceremony so they could get to the reception early and enjoy all their family and friends. They danced, they laughed, they cried, and they partied! Fun times always to remember!

The girls were GORGEOUS! I loved the soft pink dresses and the details of Michelle’s dress!

The boys stopped by after they ate their Krystals to squeeze in a few photos. Everyone was a great sport eventhough it was about 95 degrees:)

Both were picture PERFECT!

Chris and Kasha Summit Chase Country Club, Snellville GA

Chris and Kasha Heath were married at Summit Chase Country Club on June 12th.

I met Kasha last November over coffee and discussed her plans for her special day. She was so sweet and was ready to book me right away. I’m so glad she did! At their engagement session they were up for anything. I could ask them to lie on the ground or have Kasha ride on Chris’s back, and they would do it with out even looking at me like I was crazy:) On June 12th their wedding date arrived and it was time to witness the joining of their lives. Believe it or not, I often get teary-eyed at weddings and while I’m editing pictures I seriously laugh out loud and smile at the computer while remembering the day. It is my hope that I bring joy and laughter to those I photograph through my work for many years to come. Congratulations Chris and Kasha, you are special people! …and Chris, the dance you pulled of while removing the garter was by far one of the best I’ve seen…Ever!

Sanders and Voncell — Callanwolde- Atlanta, GA

A few weeks ago I posted an engagement session of Sanders and Von. Now they are finally married! Sanders and Von were married at the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center in Atlanta, GA. They were surrounded by over 250 family and friends. Von and Sanders are caring and spiritual; and the support of their family and friends is truly a testimony to the strength of their future years together.

Dusty and Katie – Henderson Village Perry, GA

I never met Katie or Dusty before the day of their wedding at Henderson Village in Perry, GA. We spoke over the phone and traded emails for the past six months, and last weekend I finally had the chance to meet the sweet voice I had been speaking too. Katie is a soft-spoken beauty and Dusty can’t keep his eyes off of her! I love photographing weddings! As the photographer I get to pay extra special attention the all the little glances and sparkles in the eyes. Even though Mother Nature was determined to bless the day with rain, the wedding went on as planned and Katie and Dusty were surrounded by their family and friends. Sanders and Von have been waiting a long time to finally be together again. After months of waiting for Sanders to return from Iraq, Von can once again feel the comfort of his arms around hers. Von is a “fashionista” with her spectacular shoes, and Sanders is as cool and laid back as they come. Their wedding is less than a month away, and the excitement was evident in her eyes the day we met to talk about their wedding day plans. The engagement session consisted of a stroll in Piedmont Park on the most beautiful day which went perfectly with these love birds.

Becky and Clay Engagement

I love photographing engagement sessions! Every time I am reminded of how it felt to be starting a marriage and life with my husband. It’ll be ten years of marriage for us this year and it still feels brand new. Thank you to all of my clients who help me remember what it was like!

He’s in the air force reserves and plays baseball, and she is a teacher and sings angelically at church! Clay and Becky’s lives are the “American dream.” They absolutely glow with the excitement they have for being around one another. Becky and I planned the engagement sessions months ago when Clay was on duty. After months of waiting she was finally able to fly across the country and help him move home. You know the saying “absence makes the heart grow fonder,” well from the moment I pulled up to the photography session I knew they were crazy about each other. They were both so playful and fun, and loved cuddling! I can’t wait to photograph the wedding in Savannah in June! The park, the carriage ride, and the riverboat…a DREAM!

I am excited to announce that both Atlanta Boudoir Diaries and Mikala Carver Photography will be published in the new Social Lilly magazine that will launch in April! The magazine showcases the trendy up and coming wedding vendors in the Atlanta area.

I have been so busy over the past month. Normally this time of year for a wedding photographer is slow and it’s a chance to catch up on all the stuff that gets delayed when wedding season rolls around; but this year is so different for me! I just launched a brand new boudoir website atlantaboudoirdiaries.com . I chose to make my boudoir photography separate from my wedding photography since I am aware that not everyone is open to the idea. I didn’t want unexpecting viewers to click on the link and not know what they were being directed to; so now, it is set up so that only conscious viewers will find the site.
